Abstract
Summary The two D-galaheptonic acids have been converted to amorphous ketooctoses, designated D-gala-L-tagato-octose and~-gala-~-sorbo-octose. The former has been characterized by its crystalline phenylosazone and phenylosotriazole and the latter by its crystalline keto acetate and phen ylosazone.
