Abstract
Guatteria psiEopus Mart.(Annonaceae) 2 is rich in a number of alkaloids; thin layer chromatography of the crude bases isolated from the plant discloses about thirteen Dragendorff-staining constituents. From this mixture have been isolated two alkaloids, guatterine, C19H19N04, and atherospermidine, Cl8Hl1NO4. Guatterine is a colorless base, readily soluble in dilute aqueous acid.
