Abstract

Abstract: The synthesis of amides 2 from the corresponding aromatic acids and aliphatic amines in the presence of catalytic amount of p-toluenesulfonic acid has been reported. The reactions are accelerated with microwave irradiation under solvent-free conditions to afford a high yielding synthesis of amides.
