Abstract
At 100'the primary decomposition is completed within a few minutes. When the solution is acidified and partially evaporated, a substance of empirical formula C12H1303N3 separates; mp, 163'. It must be l-methyl-3-phenylhydantoyl-melhylamide (11),€ or with alkali it gives methylamine, carbon dioxide, and 1-methyl-3-phenylhydantoin (III), and with hydrogen peroxide, the corresponding hydroxyhydantoyl-methylamide (IV).
