Abstract
Versatile method has been developed for synthesis of N-substituted imides. Thus, acid anhydrides, imides and dicarboxylic acids were successfully subjected to dehydrative cyclization with substituted amines using DPPOx and Et3N to afford N-substituted imides under mild conditions.
