Abstract

Upon addition of a mixture of acetonitrile and cyclohexanone to a cooled, stirred suspension of anhydrous aluminum chloride in carbon disulfide a semisolid reaction mass forms which soon prevents further stirring. After decomposition of the product with ice water the mixture yields a crystalline solid (I) melting at 140'and having the formula C14H2302N.
