Abstract

Cerium-mediated conjugate additions of (diethoxyphosphinoyl) difluoromethyllithium to cyclic vinyl sulfoxides proceeded smoothly; thermal sulfoxide elimination afforded the products of formal vinylation, attaching the difluoromethylenephosphonato group to an alkenyl carbon atom.
