Abstract

Experimental o-Tolyltriethy1silane.-A solution of o-tolyllithium prepared from 83.5 g.(0.5 mole) of o-bromotoluene and 7.0 g.(1 g. atom) of lithium was added to 83.6 g. of triethylchlorosilane (90% pure). The mixture was stirred until a negative Color Test I was obtained, then poured onto ice. The ether layer was separated, dried and evaporated.
