Abstract

Highly diastereoselective alkylation (96% de) of α-lithiated N-[N-bis (methylthio) methyleneglycyl]-trans-2, 5-bis (methoxymethoxymethyl) pyrrolidine and subsequent hydrolysis gave various α-amino acids of high optical purity.
