Abstract

An efficient preparation of doubly 13C-labeled methyl nitroacetate and its application in the preparation of six doubly labeled amino acid derivatives are reported. This versatile precursor should allow the convenient preparation of many classes of natural and non- natural doubly labeled amino acids.
