Abstract

Summary 1. The methyldipropyl carbinols have been condensed with phenol in the presence of alum-inum chloride to give good yields of the corresponding pt-octylphenols. 2. The 3, 5-dinitrobenzoyl esters and the a-naphthylurethans of these pt-octylphenols have been prepared.
