Condensation of Oxazolone 6 with Dimethyl 3-0xoglutarate.-In a manner identical with that described for the reaction of oxazolone 5, 878 mg (2.74 mmol) of 6 was allowed to react with 570 mg (3.28 mmol) cf dimethyl 3-oxoglutarate and 75.5 mg (3.15 mmol) of sodium hydride.
