Abstract
Abstract The reaction of substituted salicylaldehydes with 2-benzimidazolyl-and 2- benzothiazolylacetonitriles gives the corresponding 3-hetarylcoumarins. The alkylation, acylation, and aminomethylation reactions of these 7-hydroxy-substituted hetero isoflavonoid analogs has been studied.
