Abstract

Hydrosilanes have been employed for the reduction of different functio- nalities especially in combination with a suitable catalyst but have got limited applications thus far'. We argued that trimethylsilane can be generated in situ from chlorotrimethylsilane (CTMS) and nickel boride (Ni2B) and therefore decided to study the reductions in a medium containing hydrosilane and nickel boride as a catalyst.
