Abstract
Desoxycarpyrinic arid and carpyrinic acid, degradation products of carpaine, have been synthesized by application of the Hammick reaction (decarboxylation of a picolinic acid in the presence of a carbonyl compound) to the half-ester aldehyde of suberic acid.
