Abstract
We have prepared monocyclic a-keto 0-lactams by several different methods. & In a brief communicationab we have described the synthesis of this family of p-lactam derivatives via a Pummerer type reaction of a-phenylthio 6-lactams. We describe now some highly functionalized 0-lactams prepared by this general approach as well as details of our earlier workaab
