Abstract

The first carbon-functional organotrisilanes, 1-and 2-(dichloromethyl) heptamethyltrisilane, have been prepared from the corresponding chloroheptamethyltrisilanes with a- dichloromethyllithium. 1-(Chloromethy1)-heptamethyltrisilane as well as (chloromethy1) pentamethyldisilane were also prepared by in situ coupling of bromochloromethane with the corresponding chlorosilanes.
