Abstract
Abstract The reducing agen “Cp 2 TiCl 2 i-PrMgBr” is applied in synthetic organic chemistry. This reagent is very efficient in the reduction of vinyl and aryl bromides. Olefins and acetylenes undergo competitive reduction and isomerisation. The reaction mechanism involves complexes of Cp 2 TiH. This method may be useful for the formation of vinyl Grignard reagents.
