Direct regioselective conversion of a variety of cyclic and acyclic ketones to α-fluoroketones was achieved in high to excellent yield using 1-fluoro-4-hydroxy-1,4-diazoniabicyclo[2,2,2]octane bis(tetrafluoroborate) [Accufluor TM - NFTh] in acetonitrile solution.
