Abstract
Abstract The redox reaction between dialkyliodoboranes and sulfur as well as the reaction of dialkylhaloboranes with H 2 S 2 or Na 2 S 2 leads to the formation of bis-(dialkylboryl) disulfanes, R 2 BSS-BR 2 (VI). This new class of compounds exhibits a high thermal, but a low hydrolytical, stability. Attempts to obtain diborylsulfanes, R 2 BS-BR 2 (V), by removing one sulfur atom from (VI) result in products formed by the rearrangement of (V). The ...
