Abstract
Abstract Dialkyl 4-(dialkoxyphosphoryl)-3-oxobutanoates (1), upon yeast-mediated bioreduction, afforded chiral dialkyl 4-(dialkoxyphosphoryl)-3-hydroxybutanoates (2) in moderate to good yields and ee values. Significant improvement was reported for the preparation of dialkyl 4-(dialkoxyphosphoryl)-3-oxobutanoates (1), the key substrates of this bioreductive conversion.© 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
