Abstract
Selective monoacylation of 1, n-linear diols seems to be a simple molecular transformation, however, it is still a challenging subject in current organic synthesis because overacylation is usually unavoidable. High reactivity of primary hydroxy groups at the both ends of the linear diols makes selective monoacylation difficult.
