Abstract
Abstract: A variety of overcrowded novel galvinoxyl radicals have been synthesized. Steric requirements of bulky substituents have been studied by means of ESR, ENDOR, TRIPLE, and ENDOR-induced ESR spectroscopy. From'H and 13C ENDOR measurements in nematic and smectic phases of liquid crystals anisotropic hyperfine contributions could be determined. The results suggest that steric interactions cause different geometrical ...
