Abstract
Abstract The compound (Me 3 Si) 3 CSiMeClI reacts with Hg (OAc) 2 in AcOH to give (Me 3 Si) 2 C (SiMe 2 OAc) 2, under conditions in which the chloride (Me 3 Si) 3 CSiMe 2 Cl is inert. Similarly,(Me 3 Si) 2 C (SiMe 2 OAc) 2 reacts with CF 3 CO 2 H to give (Me 3 Si) 2 C [SiMe 2 (O 2 CCF 3)] 2 under conditions in which (Me 3 Si) 3 CSiMe 2 OAc is inert. The results can be accounted for in terms of anchimeric assistance by the neighbouring ...
