Abstract

As an extension of the use of 3, 3-difluorocyclopropene and 1, 3, 3-trifluorocyclopropene as precursors of the monofluoro-and difluorocyclopropenyl cations,'V2 we sought 3- fluorocyclopropene (1) as a source of the cyclopropenyl cation itself. However, when finally made, 1 proved to be too labile for use in most chemistry, including preparation of colorless cation solutions in sulfur dioxide at low temperature for use in Raman spectroscopy. ...
