Abstract

Recently in our laboratory, Mannich condensations of benzetriazole and an aldehyde with various XYNH compounds have given reactive intermediate adducts. which upon nucleophilic displacement of the benzotriazole moiety by a carbanion, have resulted in versatile syntheses of N-alkylated derivatives.
