Abstract

Summary: A series of phenoxathiins CL) were produced by the reaction between spiroepoxy- 2, 4-cyclohexadienones(5, and the pentachlorothiophenolate anion. The spiroepoxycyclohexadlenones k) may be regarded as polarity-reversed masked phenols in these reactions.
