Abstract

Organic esters of the hypothetical inorganic acid HOSSOH can be obtained in good yields by the action of sulfur monochloride on primary and secondary alcohols in the presence of tertiary amines. The simple acyclic esters have been shown to possess the unbranched dialkoxy disulfide (ROSSOR) structure.
