Abstract
The Flood Reaction.-In 1933 Flood reported that treatment of a concentrated sulfuric acid solution of hexaethyldisiloxane with ammonium chloride or fluoride gives triethylchlorosilane or the corresponding fluor0 compound.* In connection with studies of organosilicon compounds, we have found this reaction extremely convenient for the preparation of large amounts of trialkylchloro-and trialkylfluorosilanes, when (certain modifications of the ...
