Abstract
I I1 presents experiments with a wide variety of acetals which delineate the scope and limitations of this novel reaction. The effects of structure upon the reactivity of the acetal toward isomerization by the useable catalysts pumice and silica will be considered first. h variety of other catalysts was either inert or destructive.
