Abstract
Under the effect of sulfuric acid on acetates of tetrachloroalkanols I dichloroalkane acids II were formed from which trans-trans-alkadiene acids III were formed on heating with an alcoholic potassium hydroxide solution, and corresponding ro-hydroxy-tralls-2-alkenoic acids IV on boiling with potassium acetate at elevated temperature.
