Abstract

Oxidation of olefins has been examined with the following three types of reagents;(i)(C 6 H 5 Se) 2–Br 2–(Bu 3 Sn) 2 O,(ii)(C 6 H 5 Se) 2–t-BuOOH, and (iii)(C 6 H 6 Se) 2–(C 6 H 5 SeO) 2 O, and the corresponding α-phenylseleno carbonyl compounds have been obtained directly from the olefins.
