Abstract
Conclusions Substitution of zinc (I1) with cobalt (I1) in bovine erythrocyte SOD provides a derivative which allows isotropically shifted proton signals to be detected. From the'H NMR spectra, it can be guessed that the correlation time T~ experienced by protons relaxed by the copper electron is about the same experienced by protons relaxed by the cobalt electrons, since comparable line widths are observed for protons interacting with either metal ion.
