Abstract
While the use of early transition metal catalysts for the reductive cyclization of dienes and enynes has been to date there has been no catalytic process developed for the reductive cyclization of an alkene or an alkyne with a heteroatom-containing unsaturated functional group. Herein we show the viability of such a process as exemplified by the conversion of enones to cyclopentanols.
