Abstract

A great number of indole derivatives possessing diverse biological and pharmaceutical activities are annulated with five-, six, and seven-membered carbocycles. Among the 2, 3- condensed derivatives a remarkable amount of attention is devoted to azaazulenes (cyclohepta [b] indoles) which are constituents of some alkaloids [1] and pigments [2].
