Abstract

Abstract Two novel functional rigid ligands, 2, 2′-and 4, 4′-bipyridyl-based “building blocks”, 9-ethyl-3, 6-bis [2-(4-pyridyl) ethenyl] carbazole (L 1) and 9-ethyl-3, 6-bis [2-(2- pyridyl) ethenyl] carbazole (L 2), were synthesized.
