Abstract
Abstract 4, 7, 10, 13-Nonadecatetraynoic acid and 5, 8, 11, 14, 17-eicosapentaynoic acid were synthesized via coupling of 1-bromotetradecatriyne or-tetrayne with 4-pentynoic or 5- hexynoic acid respectively. 3, 6, 9, 12-Octadecatetraynoic acid could not be prepared in this way; it was obtained via the corresponding tetraynol. All poly-ynoic acids were esterified and partially hydrogenated to the corresponding all cis-enoic acids.
