Abstract

Method I. A solution of alcohol (+)-14a (0.11 mmol, 20 mg) in 600 pL of acetone was treated with excess Jones reagent30 (ca. 30 pL) and stirred for: 30 min at room temperature. The reaction mixture was diluted with water and extracted with ether. The ether extracts were washed with saturated NaHC03 solution and brine, dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, and concentrated to yield ketone (+)-I (19 mg, 90%) as a colorless oil,[aIaoD+ 104.7"(c 0.62). ...
