Abstract

2204 KENNETH S. PITZER AND HERBERT S. GUTOWSKY ... -0.42 volt, and Latimerlo has calculated it to be approximately - 0.33 volt. According to Furman and Murray6 the Eo potential of the mercury- mercurous system in hydrochloric acid solution varies from about -0.4 volt in solutions of very low acidity to about 0.0 volt in solutions 9 N in this acid.
