Abstract

Abstract The reaction of 4-bromo-5-nitrophthalonitrile with aliphatic secondary diamines to give dicyano tetrahydroquinoxalines alkylated on the nitrogen atoms has been investigated for the first time. The latter can be used to prepare imides, phthalocyanines, hexazocyclanes, and other compounds containing isoindoline fragments.
