Abstract
Abstract: The chemiluminescence of a series of lithium phosphides, most of which were prepared for the first time, has been characterized. Sensitivity of the emissions of the solid salts to change in the organic group, particularly the shift to longer wavelength obtained with the di-a-naphthylphosphide relative to phenyl, indicates that the chemiluminescence is of molecular rather than crystal origin.
