Abstract

As we came to the need of o-nitro-and o-acetamino-phenylglyoxal for further synthesis in our study, we carried out the oxidation of o-nitro-and o-acetamino-acetophenone. It has been reported1) that the oxidation of p-nitro-and p-acetamino-acetophenone gives corresponding phenylglyoxal derivatives.
