Abstract

It is generally known'that trialkylbismuth compounds are oxidized by air at ordinary temperatures so rapidly that they ignite spontaneously, in some cases with explosive violence.? Under these conditions the bismuth compound is probably oxidized completely to bismuth trioxide.
