Abstract

WE required a number of m-and $-alkylanilines for synthetical work. Recorded preparations of the+ compounds from alkylbenzenes, from aniline, or N-alkylarylamines, or of m- alkylanilines from their+ analogues, are tedious. Alkyl m-and fi-aminophenyl ketones would be convenient starting materials.
