Abstract

3-Keto-4, 4-diethylhexan-l-ol.-To 16 g., 0.65 gramatom, of magnesium in 200 cc. of dry ether was added 70 g., 0.65 mole, of ethyl bromide. When the reaction was completed 80 g., 0.56 mole, of methyl triethylcarbinyl ketone was added. The reaction mixture was stirred for twenty-four hours.
