Abstract
(GH)-one (ethenomethylcytosine)(sa), was a decarbonylated product which had been reported The third modified base, mp 254-256" C, was isolated in 7% yield. The mass spectral data (M'283 and 281) and elemental analysis suggested a molecular formula of CIOHB-N302Br.
