Abstract

On the other hand, derivatives containing one or more alkyl substituents in the terminal group, such as irans-crotonaldehyde (l), trans-3-penten-2-one (ethylideneacetone)(2), mesityl oxide (3), 2-cyclohexen-1-one (4), and 1-cyclohexenyl methyl ketone (5), fail to react under the usual conditions. These derivatives constitute the “icert” group.
