Abstract: Spontaneous decomposition of antileukemic l-[2-[(2-chloroethyl) sulfinyl] ethyl]-3- cyclohexyl-l-nitrosourea and its alkyl-substituted analogues in aqueous buffer (pH 7.0 and 37" C) affords fragmentation products through the intermediacy of novel 1, 2-oxathietanes.
