Abstract
In the case of the methyl polyyne system, the spectra of the acetylenic protons are not affected by the chain length. However, aromatic polyynes show large diff erences in chemical shifts between mono-and diynes, whereas the chemical shift for the proton beyond diyne remains constant within experimental error.
