Abstract
Since the observation by Wulf and his coworkers25, it has been occasionally reported that 2- hydroxybiphenyl shows doublet OH stretching band in the infrared absorption spectrum. The phenomenon was explained on the assumption that 2-hydroxybiphenyl would be composed of eis and trans isomers.
